Gov. Charlie Crist  signed a bill on 14 Nov 2007 that may cut property taxes.  Floridians must approve the state constitutional amendment, which will be on the 29 Jan 2008 presidential primary ballot.

This amendment contains four integral elements, one of which is the homestead exemption, which will save the average Florida homeowner around $240/year.
